Atelier Work
This is some of my best work from the year I spent studying under master painter Adare, as part of the Kipaipai Art Foundation’s Oil Painting and Drawing Atelier program, located in Keau’u, Hawaii. I was one of the first artists to graduate from the program in 2019.
Lessons covered a wide array of topics, from still life paintings of plaster statuettes, flowers, and other house hold items, to reproductions of master paintings, to color theory, to portraits. Sight-sizing technique was utilized from the very beginning in the drawing lessons and was encouraged throughout the rest of the year in the painting courses.
